New Trend in Internet Shopping: Mobile Applications

E-Commerce
Many things have changed during the pandemic. Consumer habits come first among these. Especially during the periodic bans and closure process, many people accessed the products and services they needed over the internet.

According to researches, 84% of consumers have used mobile devices and 16% have used computers as of last year. The share of shopping brand or marketplace applications has reached 82.3% in transactions made via mobile devices. 79.6% of users used mobile applications and 20.4% used browsers for purchases made via mobile devices.

In the restrictions that come with Covid-19 measures, it can be said that classical commerce has left its place to e-commerce. In this process where online shopping is extremely popular, consumers preferred this method because it is fast and practical. In addition, mobile applications that are extremely easy to use have become popular. Again, statistics showed that while consumers in the age range of 18-24 mostly preferred mobile devices and applications, it was determined that the least used age group was 45 and over.

Brand or E-Marketplace?

One of the consumer preferences was the e-marketplace applications that contain many brands rather than brands. Both the richness of product and brand diversity and the saving of time during shopping made e-marketplaces popular in the eyes of the consumer. Consumers prefer e-marketplaces that include the brand they are looking for, rather than the brand's own website. The statistical data on this issue are as follows:% of consumers prefer e-market places, 14.6% of the brand's own website and 8.8% of them prefer social media platforms.
